leadership Training

Following the Guide and Lead philosophy, especially in the current pace of change and the huge challenges facing education, we believe that before guiding others stands the leading of the self.

It is for this reason that everyone – in any position – in a school community can benefit from learning the skills to guide others by leading themselves. A learning environment consists of an ever-evolving web of interactions involving people who need to be able to both lead and follow – whether a principal, middle leader, teacher, parent.

We also offer leadership training to students from high school level and students with special educational needs (with a particular specialism in supporting students with ASD, ADHD and gifted students).

All leadership trainings include modules of coaching specifically mirroring the vision of your organization.

There isn’t a single school that we have visited or worked with that didn’t have major parts of the school community complaining about inefficient or unproductive communication. Technology seemingly should make things much easier, but in reality it is often quite the opposite.

During the Guide and Lead communication trainings we can show your staff and management how to use communication not only efficiently to convey and receive messages, but also techniques to communicate in ways that will enhance the learning and working atmosphere in your institution.

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT

In any environment where many people with different perspectives come together, chances are that conflicts will arise. Addressing these in efficient and respectful ways is therefore a skill that comes in really handy.

At Guide and Lead, we view conflicts as opportunities for growth. This is because conflicts usually represent needs that have not been met.

In our conflict management training we help you learn strategies to identify these needs and to find solutions – making sure that everybody’s needs are being taken into account (and possibly met).

You will surely see the world with different eyes and be able to apply these strategies, not only at work but in all aspects of your life.

Self – organising Teams

At the heart of our motto is a complete commitment to open and collaborative ‘self-organizing’ teams energized by self-leading team members. While it is essential that we support our students, colleagues, friends and family members as they build their skills of self-leadership, there are also many useful techniques that we can use to support the same process at the team level. As we know, any transformation requires practices, and such practices may be individual, but they may also be useful for the group themselves to work on.

We draw on many agile techniques to train team leaders, and teams themselves, in strategies that promote deep collaboration and activate self-leadership in team members. Frameworks such as Scrum and ‘liberating structures’ can be used to transform your students, your team members or your employees into highly effective teams.

But it is essential that these are not just practices to “do”! An essential part of all of our training for self-organizing teams is the ‘why’ behind the practices – inviting participants to understand and truly become self-leaders and teams to become self-organizing, rather than just “do” self-organization.
